Indonesian Cinema: A Symposium Introduction.

An introduction to the journal is presented in which the editors discuss articles published within the issue, including an overview of the Islamic-themed film from the New Order period by Eric Sasano, a discussion of the links between appearance and practice of Islam in recent films by Intan Paramaditha, and an article on Islam as a powerful form of political resistance by Katinka van Heeren.
