Abstract

The article focuses on the increase in the number of stocks purchased by trustees in New York in December 1950 following the passage of a so-called prudent man investment law, which took effect on July 1. Factors that contributed to the revision in the trustees' philosophy are the decrease in both high-grade corporate bond yields and continued decline in the purchasing power of the dollar. It cites the types of investors who have been buying common stocks. Industrial stocks are said to be the preferred buys of the trustees.
