Abstract
- The article reports on the competition between the right-wing International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers and the left-wing United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers. The unions are fighting in courts for the control of union finances and existing contracts with employers and are also competing to win the support of rank-and-file workers and recognition of employers and government officials. The status of each union in major cities such as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Dayton, Ohio are discussed.
