Monthly review: January 2011: The political scene.

The article offers an overview of the domestic political scene in Czech Republic as of January 2011. It notes the dominance of post-election coalition formation in Czech politics, as well as public reaction to the alliance between the Civic Democratic Party and the Czech Social Democratic Party. In November 2010, four laws were passed by the Senate that approved 46 billion Czech koruna in spending cuts. There has been an increase in unrest in the state sector as a result of the government's fiscal austerity measures.
