Abstract

The article reports on the success of C. W. LaPierre as vice-president and general manager of the Aircraft Gas Turbine Division (AGT) of General Electric Co. in the U.S. in May 1954. According to LaPierre, the function of the AGT is to supply aircraft engines during the war. The author adds that LaPierre and his staff members keep AGT vigorous through its five-year planning program, which includes the development of commercial engine. The plan of the AGT to enter the commercial jet transport market by 1955 is also discussed.
