Abstract

The article discusses a trend in which furniture selling by brand name is becoming popular in the U.S. as of August 1952. It is said that the trend seems likely to result to some shifts in furniture marketing. It is noted that one reason why there are less furniture manufacturers that advertise is that the industry is comprised mostly of small manufacturers. The current emphasis on contemporary design and the impact of the trend on distribution channels are tackled.
