Abstract

The article offers information on prospects for industrialization in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. It notes the economic effect of the city's central location between the industrial Eastern region and the agricultural Western region of the U.S. It differentiates the industries present in the two cities with the Kansas side focused on milling and packing, while Missouri concentrates on more diverse businesses. Despite the presence of heavy-industries, analysts agree that Kansas City has essentially remained a farming region.
