Abstract

The article presents information on the marketing strategies of low-markup retailers to spread discount gospel. It discusses the expanded furniture department of New York based discount department store chain of Masters Inc. It reports that Schick Inc. and Benrus Watch Co. have cut profit margins on their products to substitute dollar profits on increased volume for higher markup. However the National Retail Merchants Association suggests the reorganization of retail staff and executives.
