Abstract

The article reports on the decline in the prices of wholesale cheddar cheese from 51 cents to 37.50 cents in Plymouth, Wisconsin. It states that the Office of Price Administration (OPA) failed to control the price of milk which resulted to the deflation of cheese. It highlights the restrictions imposed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the pasteurization of milk to facilitate the production of safe and quality cheese.
