Abstract

This article offers a look at the weapons systems, tactics and organization of the U.S. Armed Forces to prepare the country for a new kind of war. It explains that the advent of electronics, atomic and air travel technology drive the revolutionary changes in warfare. Among the weapons systems in the U.S. arsenal are the U.S. Air Force's Boeing B-52 intercontinental bomber, U.S. Navy's Convair Terrier antiaircraft guided missiles and U.S. Army's 106-millimeters (mm) recoilless rifle.
