Abstract
- The article reports on the key elements of the old New Orleans that continue to thrive in Louisiana in February 1955. It says that New Orleans will continue to be known for its various interest aspects including its emphasis on elegance and fine living, its Mardi Gras tradition and its French Quarter. The author adds that one of the conflicting facets between the old and new New Orleans is the Mardi Gras, which begins with sponsored balls. The tendency of the City of New Orleans to resist change is also discussed.
