Abstract
- This study involves the interaction of plutonium(IV, V, and VI) and uranium(VI) with a natural apatite mineral surface at varying metal concentrations and pHs under atmospheric conditions. The retention factors or K[sub d] values (in the case of sorption) were calculated by difference knowing the initial actinide concentration and determining the concentration of the actinides in solution. The degree of retention varied with the total actinide concentration. © 2000 American Institute of Physics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
