Abstract

The article reports that U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower has reached a point in which he must decided whether he would run for reelection after suffering a heart attack in office on September 24, 1955. While having a vacation in Thomasville, Georgia, the president is pondering on sense of duty and the impact of the Presidency on his health. The three major problems Eisenhower must face during his isolation in Georgia are also discussed.
