Abstract

The article reports on the economic effect of the World War II in Hampton Roads, Virginia. It mentions that the Navy in the area has brought economic boom wherein the Navy Yard in Portsmouth has employed 36,000 civilian workers with an annual payroll of over 100,000,000 dollars. But due to the employment in the Navy, employers in the area have hard time looking for employees. Some people say that war boom prosperity has brought more problems.
