Abstract

The article reports on the American Newspaper Advertising Network (ANAN), a group of leading U.S. newspapers headed by advertising manager, Harold B. Sherwood to recoup the advertising revenue lost by them due to depression. It states that ANAN is founded to counter the tough competition faced by the newspaper from radio and national magazines. It states the main plan of the network is to sell advertisers who buy, black and white space in a minimum of 80 percent of the papers.
