Abstract
- The article offers information on the performance of the U.S. candy business during the war years between 1939-1945. It mentions that in 1944, the manufacturers' peak sales reached to 658 million dollars and candy consumption recorded 20.5 pounds per capita. It informs that in 1945, the candy consumption fell down to 18.7 pounds per capita. It reveals that the shortage of ingredients are troubling the candy business and will eventually bring about cut-throat competition.
