Abstract

The article offers an analysis on the international trade of U.S. in 1949. It notes a chart that depicts where the biggest import come from, mainly raw materials and foodstuffs, and hint of how other countries need the U.S. It argues that the imports show how dependent the country is on its foreign suppliers particularly on coffee, newsprint and pulp, and copper.
