Abstract

The article reports on the growth of the timber industry in Mexico during World War II. It notes that high prices and the increase in demand have resulted in the boost of timber exports to the U.S. every year since the wage began. It states that there are vast conifer forests of great commercial value in Mexico, whose busy furniture and hand-carved wood industry is based on lumber even in peacetime.
