Abstract

The article offers information on the efforts of John L. Lewis, president of United Mine Workers of America (UMW) against the Taft-Hartley law for labor agreement of the U.S. It states that agreement settled on the monthly pension of 100 dollar per member of UMW, who has reached the age of 62. It mentions that Lewis teamed up with Senator Styles Bridges and dominated the administration of the welfare trust.
