Abstract

The article reports on a survey according to which there is adequate supply of alloy steel unlike the carbon steel in the U.S. It states that the reasons for increased supply of alloy steel includes increase in the melting capacity, plentiful supply of alloy scrap and increase of the alloy making know-how. It states that new uses of production have increased alloy steel especially stainless steel. It states that due to the price of alloy steel it would not be able to substitute carbon steel.
