The article focuses on a decline in the deployment of unified communications (UC) resulting from the trimming of corporate budgets in 2008. According to Geoff Johnson, research vice president at Gartner, UC offerings as of 2009 are still being adopted piecemeal or in parts rather than as an enterprisewide plan. Some of the changes in the UC and collaboration market expected to take place in 2010 are discussed.
