Raytheon 'Quiet Eyes' Turret Wins Air Force DAC Contract.

The article reports that Raytheon Co. [RTN] has been awarded a 5 million dollars Defense Acquisition Challenge (DAC) contract by the U.S. Air Force, to integrate within nine months the firm's Quiet Eyes Laser Turret Assembly (QELTA) with a rugged quantum cascade laser (QCL) for large fixed-wing aircraft. Mike Booen, Raytheon's vice president of Advanced Security and Directed Energy Systems, stated that Raytheon was chosen because of their history of offering products on schedule and below cost.
