Abstract
- This article offers a look at the efforts of the U.S. National Communicable Disease Center (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia to win the battle against epidemics. The CDC is waging its war on epidemics not only in the U.S. but also overseas in such places as Africa and Vietnam. With funds from the Agency for International Development the CDC aims to vaccinate 20-million West African children against measles. The CDC is fighting such epidemics as smallpox, tetanus, polio and diphtheria.
