Abstract

The article discusses the increasing number of companies in Europe that merge to deal with competition problems in 1966. It means that their merger is a way of managing their production units, financial resources as well as research and development facilities efficiently. According to the author, the biggest merger in the works is the pending collaboration of chemical manufacturers Edison and Montecatini in Italy. INSET: Italy plans for a giant in chemicals.
