Abstract

The article reports that bond dealers of Wall Street have sold over 7.7 billion U.S. dollars in publicly offered corporate bonds in the first half of 1967. For the entire of 1966, 8 billion U.S. dollars in corporates were sold. The Federal Reserve's move to expand the country's money supply was said to be a vital element in clearing the way for the new issue market. Also significant was the emergence of new buying interests. Furthermore, the nation's mutual savings banks have contributed to the first-half performance of the bond market.
