Abstract
- The relation of microtubules to the cell membrane in the secretory ameloblast of a rat incisor was morphologically investigated by using electron microscopy. Some of the microtubules were located along the cell membrane, where a filamentous structure was found between the microtubule and the cell membrane. This filamentous structure was the same in shape and size as each of the separated filaments or conjoined filaments forming a sheet, which are interposed in the microtubule bundle. Some of these membrane-associated microtubules were found at the junctional area, probably of a gap junction. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
