Abstract

The article discusses how the water pollution control industry is faring. It indicates that their 800 million U.S. dollars annual sales of water pollution control equipment is far from the predicted 29 billion U.S. dollars after enactment of the 1965 Water Pollution Act. It cites attempts by water pollution control companies to establish market position by expanding into large, all-purpose equipment and service organizations. It notes that it may still take one to five years before the water pollution control industry really takes off.
