Abstract

The article reports on the recovery of the commercial paper market in the U.S. Analysts suggest that there is some 32 billion dollars worth of outstanding commercial paper in the market as of July 1972. They say that commercial paper remains popular among investors because it has higher returns compared to Treasury bills. In addition to the recovery of the market, there is also a growing competition among dealers and other old-line market-makers.
