This article comments on the activities and trends in the money and commodities markets as of September 9, 1938. The rumors of war in Europe drove the trading at the commodities, foreign exchange and securities markets with grains and metals rising and stocks and bonds and European currencies declining. The decline in British bonds has spread to the U.S. as evidence by few American corporate bonds trading.
