Abstract

The article provides an overview of the condition of Canadian business as of July 1938. The newsprint industry is witnessing a decline in both consumers' and producers' stocks with output cut 35.4 percent from June of 1937 and shipments were 31.3 percent lower. Signs of increased agricultural output were evident with machine manufacturer Massey-Harris Company, Ltd. having improved sales of 6 percent for the first six months over 1937. The British Air Ministry plans to either purchase or build planes in Canada.
