Abstract
- The article offers information on consumers' consumption of goods and services in the U.S., in terms of dollar value, every year. It states that taxes paid by individuals are collected by the government agencies, however, it is impossible for them to compare the payment of taxes with the benefits of public services they consumed. It mentions that amongst the consumers' tax expenditures, direct taxes account for only a quarter of the total tax collected.
