Abstract
- The article presents the author's comments on free deals in business. The author says that the manufacturers of the Gillette Razor have been paying the United Cigar Stores Ltd. an annual bonus of 1,250,000 dollar to take 4,000,000 decks of blades from the former every year. According to the author, salesmanship has become obsolete, and merchandising means doing more business under the counter than over it. The author also talks about open competiton among business enterprises in the U.S.
