Abstract

The article discusses the matter of differing rates for private and commercial uses of leased communication wires in the U.S. as of April 1935. It states that the private sector is charged less than commercial ones, so businesses have begun lobbying for lower rates in order to boost profits, productivity and a return to pre-depression profitability. The Communications Commission promised an investigation into the matter, but others contend that such could invite restrictions on business usage of wire communications, and further impact businesses.
