Stability of operation of triple quadrupole mass spectrometers with electrospray ionization in the studies of pharmacokinetics and metabolism of new pharmaceutical entities.

The article presents a discussion on pharmacokinetics and metabolism of new pharmaceutical entities by employing high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) combined with tandem mass spectrometers. It states the result that using 99.999% pure nitrogen for electrospraying significantly increases the stability of the obtained data and the high precision of the results of quantitative analysis.
