Abstract

The article looks at the reciprocal effects of the New Deal to both the construction industry and U.S. government as of August 25, 1934. The objectives of the U.S. administration are said to be the creation of employment in the construction industry through public works projects, stimulation of private construction and coordination through codification under the National Recovery Administration (NRA). It also notes New Deal activities in housing, finance in the building industry and the codes.
