- This section offers business news briefs in Canada as of November 3, 1934. The resignation of Trade Minister H. H. Stevens in the face of investigations into charges of business malpractice beclouds prospective further New Deal legislation to regulate business in Canada. The cabinet case against Stevens was basically anchored on representations from Toronto department stores T. Eaton & Co. and Robert Simpson Co. The recently organized Federal Marketing Board is regulating marketing of British Columbia tree fruit, dry salt fish and flue-cured tobacco.
