Abstract

The article reports on the decline in the prices of wheat in Chicago, Illinois in 1932 which may be attributed to the increase in competition from Canada. Aside from competition, the decline in wheat prices may also be attributed to the decline in demand from European importing nations. There was an increase of 163 million bushels in Canadian crop from 1931 while there was a decline in U.S. crop by approximately 180 million.
