Abstract

The article offers an overview of the business conditions in several countries in 1931. Other European countries fear that Germany will use its financial crisis to get rid of its large stocks of iron, coal and steel products at any price to obtain foreign currency. Gold withdrawals still continue in London, England while French franc fell after the Bank of France decided to increase its sterling holdings. The average wheat yield for the year is estimated to be seven million tons while import will be one million tons.
