The article discusses the highlights of the National Consultative Meetings on Polio Eradication (NCMPE) conducted by the Polio Eradication Committee (PEC) of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics Committee on March 19, 2010 in New Delhi, India. The continuous neglect and disregard shown to Vaccine Associated Polio Paralysis (VAPP) and the acknowledgement of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV) cases are mentioned. The importance of re-building universal immunization programs (UIP) in several states is also discussed.
