Monitoring of Qol fungicide resistance in Plasmopara viticola populations in Japan.

The article presents a study to monitor the presence of Quinone Outside Inhibitor (QoI) fungicide resistance in Plasmopara viticola in Japan vineyards in 2009. It says that P. viticola was found in Hokkaido vineyards where QoI fungicide was used which resulted to severe problem on the control of grapevine downy mildew, but not on vineyards where QoI was not introduced. The study suggests that monitoring is important to improve Japan's pest management strategies.
