Abstract
- The article presents a study that aims to examine the possibility of rectorite replacing kaolin for preparing fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts using in-situ synthesis technique. Rectorite is a natural aluminosilicate mineral that has physicochemical properties comparable to kaolin like its chemical composition, thermal behavior, and chemical reactivity. It was concluded that a suitably treated rectorite mineral can substitute kaolin for synthesizing FCC catalysts.
