Abstract
- The article presents a feasibility study that determines the visualization of the uvula and the soft palate during routine two dimensional (2D) ultrasound examination. It also examines the development of a sonographic procedure that simplifies prenatal detection of isolated fetal cleft palate. It notes that the study investigated the 667 consecutive patients with a singleton pregnancy between 20-25 weeks of gestation. It shows that Visualization of the equals sign proves an intact palate.
