Abstract

The article focuses on a study that examines the grounds for the existence of the chronological, structural and petrological tectonic interlinks between different manifestations of the Archaean eclogite metamorphism within the Belomorian eclogite province (BEP) in Karelia, Russia. Salma and Gridino were the two eclogite assemblages included in the BEP located in migmatized tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite (TTG) gneisses of the Keretian formation. It adds that the grounds for such existence may open new possibilities for the reconstruction of the geodynamic processes in relation to the history of Early Precambrian crust region and may provide appropriate concept of the Early Precambrian as a whole.
