In this article the author discusses how plants response to salt in a soil salination. He is critical on how plants cope with excess salt in the environment and the effect of salt stress to plants. Also investigated is the integration of three disparate elements in plant stress biology including lipid signalling, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signalling and the SOS1 salt tolerance mechanism.
