Abstract
- This article provides basic data about the Republic of Iran. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran's population was 73.3 million as of 2008. The country's climate is continental, with extremes of atmospheric temperature. Many holidays in the republic are religious and are mostly based on the Islamic year.
