Abstract

The article presents a response to an article by Wolfgang Sander, published in volume 20, issue 2 of this journal, and discusses the relationship between scholarly research, legal guarantees of academic and intellectual freedom, and the problems of partisanship and ideological indoctrination in civics education. Reflections on the epistemological assumptions of the original article, especially with respect to the philosophical concept of constructivism, are also offered.
