The article looks at Germany twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the country's unification in 1990. Details of the treaty signing in 1990 are recounted, and a discussion of what became of the German Democratic Republic's state security, known as the Stasi, is presented. Various memorials have been constructed in Berlin since unification, including portions of the wall at Potsdamer Platz, and pictures of those killed trying to cross the wall at Bernauer Strasse.
