Abstract
- This article reports on the objections raised by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) at hearings on covered bonds held by the U.S. Senate Banking Committee in 2010. Michael Krimminger, deputy to the chair for policy at the FDIC, noted the impact of the proposed covered bond market legislation on the relationship between investors and regulators. The FDIC also warned about the effect of the legislation on banks on the verge of collapse.
