A Note on the Utilization of Economics Books in a Large Urban University.

The article reports on a user study of economics books at the University of South Florida, which has an enrollment of some 21,000 students and an economics faculty of 20. The purposes of this study are to indicate the ways by which user information might be inexpensively obtained from a library and to suggest how that information might be used to aid in acquisition decisions. According to the author improvement in the economics collections of libraries will strengthen the process of university-level economic education. The author presents a summary of use of all economic books at the university.
