Abstract

The article focuses on the life of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, who was assassinated in Cairo. It explores Sadat's life which was a skein of contradictions and was guided by a sense of belonging as well as his career as a onetime revolutionary firebrand, military man, and president. It also highlights the political leadership of Sadat and the dramatic changes he made in the Middle East as well as his search for peace and direct dealings with Israel.
